Educational Qualifications and Experience: 1st Class M.Sc./M.Tech /M. Phil in Geology/Earth Sciences/Hydrology/Meteorology/Physics/Chemistry or other allied subjects.Desirable : (a) Ph.D in the area of Glaciology or three years research experience in the specialized field of Glaciology.(b) Field experience in the following fields of Glaciology:(i) Physical Glaciology: Glacier Mass Balance and Dynamics, Glacial Geomorphology, Glacial Sedimentology, Glacial Seismicity and Remote Sensing.(ii) Climate Change: Atmospheric Sciences, including Atmospheric Chemistry, Physics, Meteorology, Snow/Ice Melt Water Chemistry and Isotope Studies.(iii) Glacial Hydrology: Snow/Ice Melt Water Discharge, Sediment Transfer, Englacial and Subglacial Hydrology.(iv) Environmental glaciology, including Ecology.
