The Shipping Corporation of India Applications are invited from Unmarried Male and Female Graduates In Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture for Recruitment as Trainee Marine Engineer


Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture from AICTE Approved Engineering college.  Equivalent degree or degree with specialization or electives are not acceptable. Final year / semester students who appeared in the exam and expect their results by 31.07.2012 may also apply. Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 1st January 2013

Medical Standard :Candidate must have good health and are to be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000 applicable to sea farers.

Mercantile Marine Personality Evaluation Test (MMPE): Candidate should pass Mercantile marine personality evaluation test (MMPE), to be conducted at D. G. Shipping nominated centres. Eyesight:  Candidate must have good health and eye sight in general. Defective colour vision (colour blindness)  NOT accepted.

Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India written Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC & OBC
Minority in view. The Shipping corporation of India Ltd. reserves the right to shortlist the candidates  for written test also.

Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) Training and Course Fees:  After final short listing, the eligible candidate has to undergo shore based training for 12 months.
The fees for training is approximately Rs.3,00,000/-(Approx. Rs. Three Lacks only). Candidate to  pay this fees directly to the training institute. The fees may vary and solely decided by respective  Govt. Institutes. Fees once paid is not refundable at any stage either in full or part.

Test Centre: The written test will be held at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai only

Application Fees:  Rs.1000/- for General (UR) & OBC candidate’s and Rs.500/- for SC & ST candidate’s . Before filling online application form, candidates should deposit application fees in the State Bank of  India,

How to apply

Eligible candidates have to apply only through the online from 10:00 hrs of 06th June 2012 to 17:00 hrs of 06th July 2012.After filling all details in the online application form, candidates are required to save this online form and generate unique registration number. Also candidate has to download the Application form generated and take a print-out of the same, paste the recent self attested passport size photo in the space indicated, put his/her signature in the place provided (sign. on photo should match)and send the same along with the attested photocopies/Xerox of enclosures like (SSC/HSC Passing Certificate for birth proof, Degree Certificate/Provisional Degree Certificate, All semester mark sheets, Caste certificate, Caste Validity Certificate ,Original Bank counter receipt/slip as proof of fees deposited with name, address, registration number on backside etc.) ONLY BY ORDINARY POST (No Courier/Hand delivery) to the following address super scribing the envelop as "Applicaiton for  Trainee Marine Engineer Batch 2013”,and addressed to Executive Director, Third Floor, Fleet Personnel Dept., 245,Shipping House, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021, Maharashtra,India so that it reaches The Shipping Corporation Of India Ltd.
