An Army recruitment rally will be held at Bharathi
Sports Stadium in Neyveli Township from July18 to 23, according to
Colonel Sanjeev Dwivedi, director, Recruiting, Recruiting Office
(Headquarters), Chennai.
Candidates would be selected
for posts such as Soldier Tradesmen, Soldier General Duty, Soldier
Technical, Soldier Clerk/Storekeeper Technical and Soldier Nursing
Assistant.
The rally would be open to those hailing
from the districts of Tiruvallur, Vellore, Kancheepuram, Cuddalore,
Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Chennai, and the Union Territory of
Puducherry.
The minimum qualification for these
categories would be a pass in Class VIII up to Plus 2 passed. Those in
the 17.5-23 age group (the maximum age for the Soldier General Duty
would be 21 years) could take part.
Age limit
Col.
Dwivedi said that age would be calculated as on July 18, 2013. Those
below 18 years should bring the consent letters from their parents.
Only unmarried male candidates should apply.
The
selection process would continue for two days. Verification of
documents would be done on the first day and physical fitness test on
the second.
Candidates keen on joining any particular
category should report on the specified dates:
For Soldier Technical
Assistant/Nursing Assistant—July 18, Soldier General Duty – on July 19
and 20, Soldier Tradesman – July 21, Soldier Clerk/Storekeeper Technical
– July 22, Puducherry candidates could appear for all categories on all
days, besides on July 22.
