The Shipping Corporation of India Applications are invited from Unmarried Male and Female Graduates In Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture for Recruitment as Trainee Marine Engineer
Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture from AICTE Approved Engineering college. Equivalent degree or degree with specialization or electives are not acceptable. Final year / semester students who appeared in the exam and expect their results by 31.07.2012 may also apply. Candidates must be in possession of valid degree in Engineering certificate with minimum 50% marks in final year of Engineering at the time of interview (tentatively around 13 th Aug.2012) and should have secured at least 50% marks in English language at Xth or XIIth class.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 1st January 2013
Medical Standard :Candidate must have good health and are to be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000 applicable to sea farers.
Mercantile Marine Personality Evaluation Test (MMPE): Candidate should pass Mercantile marine personality evaluation test (MMPE), to be conducted at D. G. Shipping nominated centres. Eyesight: Candidate must have good health and eye sight in general. Defective colour vision (colour blindness) NOT accepted.
Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India written Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC & OBC
Minority in view. The Shipping corporation of India Ltd. reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test also.
Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) Training and Course Fees: After final short listing, the eligible candidate has to undergo shore based training for 12 months.
The fees for training is approximately Rs.3,00,000/-(Approx. Rs. Three Lacks only). Candidate to pay this fees directly to the training institute. The fees may vary and solely decided by respective Govt. Institutes. Fees once paid is not refundable at any stage either in full or part.
Test Centre: The written test will be held at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai only
Application Fees: Rs.1000/- for General (UR) & OBC candidate’s and Rs.500/- for SC & ST candidate’s . Before filling online application form, candidates should deposit application fees in the State Bank of India,
