Indian Air Force offers opportunities for Un Married Male Indian Citizens from designated Districts of the State of Karnataka to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) (For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police) trades and Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades.

| Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects or equivalent vocational courses with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Vocational course should be recognized by Association of Indian Universities.OR Three year Diploma in any stream of Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute. |
For Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades
| Candidate should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.OR Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute. |
Note: Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent will only be considered (For example, 49.9% should NOT be rounded off to 50%).

Domicile Requirement : (a) To be eligible to appear in the rally at Rangamandir, Tank Bund Road, Bellary (Karnataka) the candidates must have passed the qualifying examination from the recognized Board of the State of Karnataka OR should fulfill the domicile requirements (Domicile Certificate issued by any Gazetted Officer in Revenue Department or any official authorized by the State Government of Karnataka only will be accepted). If in Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination passing certificate, name of the district is not mentioned, candidate has to bring the original Domicile Certificate in which the District name is mentioned.
Medical Standards :(a) General Medical Standards for both Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {For Automobile Technician and Indian Air Force (Police)} trades and Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades are as follows: (i) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm(ii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.(iii) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.(iv) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.(v) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.(vi) Health: Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
Age : Candidates below 18 years of age.

Technician and Indian Air Force (Police) trades and Group ‘X’
(Technical) trades will be held at Rangamandir, Tank Bund Road, Bellary
(Karnataka) from 20 July 2012 to 27 July 2012 as per
the Selection Programme given below. The Recruitment Test will be
conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates
reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to
appear in the Recruitment Test.
